Every time Kohli comes up with his bat, he has always been able to answer all critics on any batting glitches or his ability of being a batsman and limit his anger only to aggression in the field. However, before the IPL match against Chennai Super Kings that is important to them, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru batsman talked freely about an exchange of harsh words caused by a recent criticism between him and fellow batting legend Sunil Gavaskar.
Earlier this season, Kohli was criticised for his T20 strike rate in the early stages of this year’s IPL after which he was lashed at by Gavaskar for his rant against experts and analysts who raised such queries just before India named its T20 World Cup squad.
However, not only did Kohli get selected for the T20 World Cup but also went on to top-run getter list of IPL 2024 so far as well as currently holds Orange Cap with 661 runs in 13 innings.
During a recent interview on JioCinema chat show, someone asked Kohli what he does when “noise from external atmosphere” is ongoing conflict between Gavaskar and Kohli?”
In English: “I don’t have to react at all. I know what I can do on the ground. I don’t need to tell that to anyone, that what kind of player I am, what are my abilities. I never asked anyone how to win a match (for my team). This doesn’t happeny by chance. Okay, you won one match for the team, or two. But if you are standing there and winning it repeatedly, then it can’t happen by chance.”
