The much awaited countdown begins – Richard Chadha is proving that she can juggle personal happiness and professional ambitions with grace. She is currently in the third trimester of her pregnancy and using this precious time to study scripts and oversee her projects at the production planta business she co-founded with Ali Fazal, her husband2021.
“The emphasis is on production because that’s when you really think about new talent, reach out to new creators and read their scripts,” Chadha shared. Her commitment to cultivating fresh voices is demonstrated by an exciting slate of films scheduled for release in 2024. Doggie Stylez promises diverse narratives and breakout talent.
But there’s a lot behind the scenes happening here. In fact, Chadha mentioned some undisclosed projects waiting for the right moment when she could disclose them with certainty. “We wanted our visions to align perfectly,” revealed she.
Chadha also enjoys quiet moments towards her upcoming production as well. She will have ample time to celebrate her toddler since shooting is slated for late 2024 or early 2025. “Even though I no longer shoot, I am not far from stories,” thinks Chadha accentuating her unwavering love for her job.
What would be the next phase in life look like? Motherhood. Due to their upbringing which was characterized by freedom, both Chadha and Fazal are open to whatever may come their way regarding parenting. “We will definitely try to instill curiosity in our children,” says Chadha.
