New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Saturday challenged the idea that patriarchy hinders the advancement of women in India, citing indira gandhiPromoted to Prime Minister.

Discussing the prospects for innovation, she highlighted the Modi government’s efforts to create a supportive environment for innovators. The minister stressed that in addition to policy formulation, the government also ensures market access for innovations.
She highlighted the support system for MSMEs and noted that 40 per cent of government procurement comes from this sector. “That’s why today there are over 200,000 startups in India, and over 130 of them have become unicorns. The opportunity is huge, but it is not fully exploited,” she said.
On digital banking transformation, she explains how Jan Dan Yojana Opportunities are created for ordinary people. She highlighted India’s government-funded approach to digital networking and contrasted it with private sector-led initiatives in other countries.
