Randy Orton has been one of WWE’s most popular Superstars for the past 20 years, carving out a niche for himself in the wrestling world as “The Viper.” Currently, Randy will contend with Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at “Berlin Carnival.’’ However, how would he have fared if he was to debut at 19 in today’s social media era? Orton himself provided an answer to that million dollar question during his interview with Marty Paddock on TalkSport.
“If I was 19 and signed my developmental deal and went to NXT in 2024… gosh. That is a hard one to answer. For me there was no such thing as social media in its first ten years. Nothing of that sort. I remember there was Myspace, maybe Facebook came out in 2008, but it wasn’t that popular at the time.“ Evidently, Randy does not wholeheartedly support our social media overuse. According to him though, he never actually targeted specific social media platforms available then instead gradually involved into it.
That leads us to what Randy said next whereby now everyone has got camera on their hands ready to pick even bad moments of him. “I had never been on Facebook; I think around 2011I signed up for Twitter which had been around for a while. I don’t know man; I did some stupid stuff and now it’s in everyone’s pocket”. Everybody has a camera phone this days but really speaking? If I grew up like this where would be fair?” stated Orton obviously when he means industry wise since he is an obvious if condition. Debuting young at age 19 during this era was bound to get him into trouble sooner or later as witnessed by his playful personality and mischievous activities behind the scene.
Randy Orton is a 14-time WWE World Champion and Grand Slam Champion holding belts such as Intercontinental Championship, United States Championship and Tag Team Championship. He was also twice winner of the Royal Rumble match. The first time was in 2010 when he eliminated Triple H and won the match. The second time was in 2017 when he beat Roman Reigns to become a two-time Royal Rumble Champion. In addition, he took home a Money in the Bank contract in 2013.
