“Ramayana: The Legend of Prince RamaThe 1993 Japanese-Indian animated film will be released in Indian theaters on January 24, the film’s distributor said on Wednesday. The new dubbing of Lugu will be released on October 18, 2024 4K format.
Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is distributed across India by Geek Pictures India, AA Films and Excel Entertainment.
Arjun Aggarwal, co-founder of Geek Pictures India, said they are honored to introduce “this beloved epic film” to fans and newcomers.

“This is more than just a film, it is a celebration of our culture that has been passed down from generation to generation, showcasing India’s heritage through the unparalleled artistry of Japanese animation,” Agarwal said in a statement.
Earlier, Geek Films India said it had rescheduled the film’s release with the aim of making it available to more theaters.
“Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” is directed by Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan, and Koichi Sasaki.
In its earlier Hindi version, Ramayana star Arun Govil voiced Ram and Namrata Sawhney voiced Sita , the late Amrish Puri voiced the voice of Raavan. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha narrates the film.
Renowned screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad, known for the Baahubali series, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and RRR, is overseeing the creative adaptation of the new version of the film.
Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama was screened in India at the 24th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 1993, but was not released in cinemas.
In the early 2000s, the show became popular among Indian audiences after it was re-run on television channels.
