Guwahati: Seven women shave their heads and cycle 19 km to promote peace and unity Manipur Friday marked the first anniversary of racial strife in the state, according to reports Prabin Kalita.
Dressed in black, the women rode horses from Sekmai village on the outskirts of Imphal to the historic Kangra. They held placards that read “We want peace,” “Oppose separatist government,” and “Protect territorial integrity.” Mehrapi official M Sobita Devi Kangra said.
The conflict has killed more than 225 people and displaced 60,000 people.
