ASI (Assistant Sub Inspector) posted in the Criminal Sections of the Kurukshetra unit Haryana Two men, riding a motorcycle shot Sanjeev Kumar, a police officer in the crime branch, while he was at his residence in Kuttar village of Karnal district on Tuesday night.
Sanjeev Kumar, 40-year-old man got shot by those attackers who were walking after taking meal. The two attackers fled and left Sanjeev lying in a pool of blood before family members and neighbors knew what happened.
Sanjeev Kumar ASI was taken to private hospital where doctors declared dead while he had injuries head gunshot wound below waist back side lower.
Police has registered an FIR under Arms Act for murder based on statement of his brother. His family rejected this hypothesis that hostility caused his killing though it is not ruled out by senior officials as SP Mohit Handa from Karnal has been directed to investigate such possibilities as maybe his killer targeted him as well. “The criminals self-proclaimed branch deals with all kinds of criminals from dyed-in-the-wool thugs to burglars; drug pushers to white collar felons that is why we have asked our men to find out,” said one high-ranking official.
