Indian overseas congress Chairman and senior Congress leader, Sam Pitroda has been re-instated just weeks after he resigned for controversial comment made during Lok Sabha election.
“We are not surprised “people are white” back to normal. Prime Minister Modi Ji had expected it,” said Rijiju.
The minister referred to an old interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he suggested that Congress leaders make controversial statements in a planned manner and briefly distance themselves from the party before reintegrating into mainstream politics.
“This is what they did to their mentor in the United States. He has resigned. Now he will be brought back again after some time… This is their deliberate strategy to create chaos in the country, Change the atmosphere, create new problems and force your opponent to react to them,” he added.
Accordingly, his remarks were described as racist by Indian’s House of Commons member Shashi Tharoor who wrote on his Facebook page that such comments were “absolutely shocking.”
They may have distanced themselves from Mr. Pitroda’s comments but we truly believe that they are very unfortunate indeed,” stated Congress party.
Earlier, Pitroda’s comments on the US inheritance tax while discussing the manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls in Congress gave the PPP ammunition to accuse the opposition party of using citizens’ assets as part of its “wealth redistribution” policy.
