Dilip has made a return to comedy with the comedy titled ‘Pavi Caretaker’ which did well by the critics, and most especially to its core audience. After a series of unimpressive flicks, it is nice to know that a good film has finally been released on OTT’s.
For those who missed the theatrical release, the film is now available streaming media About Manorama Max.
Pavi Caretaker | Song – Vennilla Kaniak
The plot focuses on an unmarried, and very cynical, caretaker of an apartment complex in Kerala named Pavithran, or Pavi, as he likes to be called things while dealing with residents. Those who know him have his pet peeve that basically revolves around strong yet self-imposed isolation. Most of the time he is left with only a dog, who needs to understand loyalty. But, shortly after, a burst of everything that brings contentment into such a lonely Pavey’s life, reverses everything he had grown hatefully accustomed to and expected. And his life turns upside down.
The film had a nice blend of humor and drama, which the audience felt was satisfactory as much as there were too high expectations on Dileep’s comeback owing to past disappointing films like Bandra, Grateful, etc. You feel for the characters because Pavi Caretaker addresses isolation, companionship and self-exploration.
The film’s technical aspects have been taken care of quite well. The camera work was done by Sanu Thahir who captures the metropolitan features of the flats along with the editing by Deepu Joseph. The film has music by composer Midhun Mukundan.
Apart from Midhun, Dileep plays the lead of ‘Pavi Watcher’ directed by Vineeth Kumar, also featuring Johnny Antony and Radhika Sarathkumar in important roles.
