
New Delhi: Two Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Youth Leader of Jajpur, Orissadetained for allegedly publishing derogatory content Damasalaindependent legislators, Himanshu Sekar Sahu.
police detained Subra Kumar Dar and Manas Mohanty After receiving a complaint from Biswajit Swain, bjp activist.
Swain filed a complaint with the Damasara police station accusing Dar and Mohanty of sharing defamatory videos, articles and audio-visual projects about Sahu on social media.
“The published articles, videos and audio-visual items are completely inconsistent with the facts and facts. Furthermore, these items are defamatory and abusive in nature and are intended to tarnish the image of the Dharma monastery,” the complaint states.
Following a complaint, police took Dar and Mohanty into custody on Sunday night. News of their detention prompted former Dharmasala lawmaker Pranab Balabantray and his supporters to go to the police station and demand an explanation for the detention. Balabantre accused the police of showing partisan attitude and harassing BJD workers.
Jajpur Additional SP Anirudha Routray reached the spot to discuss the matter with Balabantray and other BJD leaders. Inspector-in-charge of Dharmasala police station Tapan Kumar Nayak confirmed the detention of the two youth leaders based on a written complaint.
