West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee On Friday Wrote One More Letter To Prime Minister Modi’ Banerjee Describing herself as the Addressee of the given letter claimed that she also received no response to her earlier letter, where she had requested for more stricter laws on the rape cases.
Banerjee noted in response: “You would remember the content of my letter No. 44-CM dated August 22, 2024 (COP: enclosed), where I stressed the need for central law on rape as well as The perpetrators of such crimes should be meted out exemplary punishment.”
There was however a response from the Women and Child Development that did answer some concerns but confirmed how little consideration was given to the topic of concern as that raised in the First letter above.
“However, a response was received from the Minister of Women and Child Development, Government of India (A-07120-30-92-2013-2018 08. As to reply I received from you, one rarely pays attention to seriousness of the issues pertaining to my reported sex crime.”.
The Mamata Banerjee-led government has also come under heavy fire over the recent incidents of rape and kill of a trainee doctor followed by insurrection at RG Kar Hospital. This was after a trainee doctor was raped in the seminar room tanugae of the hospital and her body was found on 9th august.
