The Indian market has been informed by Nissan India that the Nissan X-Trail SUV is being introduced in the country. Bookings for this SUV have already begun, and interested customers can either book online or simply walk into their nearest dealership. The booking amount has been fixed at Rs 1 lakh with deliveries expected to begin soon. In India, the car comes as a complete unit (CBU) and costs about Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom).
In Delhi, Bengaluru starts from Rs 57.70 lakh on-road price for the SUV while Mumbai sells it at Rs 59.20 lakh. Also, the cost of X-Trail is Rs 62.70 lakh in Chennai, Hyderabad sells it at 61.66 lakh rupee and Kolkata also charges Rs 61.66 lakh on-road price (please note all prices mentioned here are on-road). In Kochi, an example of an X-Trail model goes for around Rs 63.70 Lakh (all prices stated herein are on-road; local dealer’s prices collected which may slightly vary).
Nissan X-Trail uses Renault-Nissan CMF-C platform developed by Nissan together with Renault. From a design perspective, it has a split LED headlight setup with a big grille upfront. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and also gets LED taillights with integrated spoiler and diffuser.
The vehicle’s interior sports black & tan fauxe leather with silver accents throughout it features stand alone 12·3 inch touchscreen infotainment system wirelessly compatible with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, three-zone climate control including wireless phone charging capability, power tailgate along with power front seats having memory functions all linked to a ten2 speaker premium Bose Surround Sound audio system panoramic sunroof fully digital instrument panel HUD display ADAS 360° view camera etc.
The SUV is powered by a 1.5L three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which generates 163 hp and 300Nm of torque. The engine comes with variable compression ratio and a 12V mild-hybrid system. Also it has CVT transmission that delivers power to the front wheels and this is the world’s first production ready Variable Compression Turbo engine.
