New Zealand lands in India for historic one-off Test against Afghanistan

Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner and Ajaz Patel are the frontline spinners, with Phillips and Ravindra available to provide part-time spin support. The team is scheduled to hold its first practice on Friday.
The Afghanistan Test is an important preparation step for New Zealand’s upcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka, which is part of New Zealand’s series against Sri Lanka world test championship. After the tour of Sri Lanka, the Black Caps will return to India for a three-match Test series against Rohit Sharma’s side in October and November. The matches will be held in Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai.
New Zealand currently ranks third in the ICC WTC standings, behind last year’s finalists India and Australia.
