The court directed the NTA to correct the error of scoring two answers in the multiple-choice question in physics and noted that option 4 should be the only option considered as the correct answer.
Subsequently, after releasing the revised scorecard two days later, NTA also released a new merit list and announced the new NEET UG 2024 Topper list. Additionally, new deadlines for all categories have also been notified. Notably, as per the notification, the cutoff for the unreserved (UR) category has been dropped by two points.
NEET UG revised cutoff 2024 announced: Below are the cutoffs of June 4 and July 26
In the newly revised scores, the score line for general candidates dropped slightly from 720-164 on June 4 to 720-162.
For candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class categories, the NEET UG cutoff is set at 161-127. Similarly, for SC, ST and OBC-PH candidates, the cutoff range is 143 to 127.
NEET UG 2024 Revised Cutoff: June 4 and July 26 Score Range
The NEET cutoff percentile for MBBS and BDS admissions is the 50th percentile for general category students and the 40th percentile for OBC, SC and ST candidates. NTA calculates the NEET UG percentile based on the highest marks obtained in the National NEET UG merit list 2024.
This year, 24,06,079 students registered for the NEET exam and 23,33,162 students actually appeared for the exam. Out of these, 13,15,853 students qualified. According to data released by NTA on July 26, among the qualified candidates, 5,46,566 were male, 7,69,277 were female and 10 were transgender students.
NEET UG 2024 counseling date soon
After the release of NEET UG 2024 revised results, the date for All India Quota (AIQ) seat consultation is expected to be announced soon. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) and the AYUSH Admissions Central Advisory Committee (AACCC) are yet to provide an update on the NEET counseling schedule 2024.
