actor NayantharaWho have worked with Danush In “Yaaradi Nee Mohini”, there was even a guest appearance in the Sivakathikeyan-starrer “Ethir Neechal” produced by Dhanush, who seemed upset and hurt by the “Raayan” star. The talented actress penned an open letter and said, “The retaliation you, I and my co-stars have for this film not only affects us, but also the people who put their effort and time into this project.”
The rift between the two star actors seems to have started after the release of Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the lead roles.Nanum Roddy DaanDirected by Vigensh Shivan who later became her husband in 2022. Nayanthara: Beyond Fairy Talesexpected to be released soon.
Actor Dhanush, who makes Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, has apparently sent a legal notice to Nayanthara seeking compensation for unauthorized use of certain footage in her upcoming Netflix documentary, demanding Rs 10 crore and refusing to grant permission to use the film songs and visuals.
“This is your lowest point ever and says a lot about your character. I wish you were half the person you portrayed in your audio release on stage in front of innocent fans, but it’s clear you don’t walk the talk, at least to Not for me and my partner,” Nayanthara said.
An injured Nayanthara termed Dhanush’s behavior as a personal grudge and he seems to have been harboring a grudge since the release of “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan”, which became a huge hit among the audience.
“Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’s songs have been appreciated so far because the lyrics come from real emotions and we knew there was no better music to use in our documentary but you refused to give us a chance to use it even just from the song, it hurts broke my heart,” Nayanthara added.
Here are Naynathara’s full notes:
Dear Mr. Dhanush K Raja, S/o Kasthoori Raja, B/o Selvaraghavan This is an open letter to you to correct something wrong.
A veteran actor like you, with the support and blessings of your father and your ace director brother, needs to read and understand this. As we all know, cinema is a battle of survival for someone like me: a self-made woman with no connections in the industry, and someone who had to fight to get to where she is today. I attribute that to my work ethic, which is no secret to anyone who knows me, but more importantly, to the goodwill of the audience and my film fraternity.
The release of my Netflix documentary is anticipated not only by me but also by my many fans and well-wishers. The entire team of collaborators and film friends overcame all the difficulties we encountered to complete the project.
My partner and I’s revenge on this film not only affects us, but also the people who put their effort and time into this project. This Netflix documentary about me, my life, my love and my marriage includes footage of many well-wishers who have given so generously to my industry as well as memories from multiple films, but sadly does not include the most special and important Movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
After two years of fighting with you for a NOC (No Objection Certificate) and waiting for you to approve the release of our Netflix documentary, we finally decided to give up, re-edit and settle for the current version because you refused to allow it despite repeated requests, to say the least. Naanum Rowdy Dhaan songs or visual clips or even photos are used.
Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’s songs are still appreciated today because the lyrics come from real emotions, knowing that there was no better music to use in our documentary, it hurts me that you refused to give us the chance to use it or even just the lyrics from the song heart.
It’s understandable if you were asked to refuse for business reasons and money issues; but it’s sad that your decision was just to vent your personal grudges against us, and yet you deliberately hesitated for so long. .
Even more shocking is the legal notice following the release of the trailer for the Netflix documentary. We are surprised to read these where you question the usage of some videos (just 3 seconds) shot on our personal devices and BTS visuals which have been publicly shown on social media and claimed to be worth Rs 10 Crores only 3 seconds of damage. That this is your all-time low says a lot about your character. I wish you were half the person you portrayed on stage in your audio release in front of innocent fans, but clearly, you don’t walk the talk, at least not to me and my partner.
Will the producers become emperors who control the life, liberty and freedom of everyone on set? Will any deviation from the Emperor’s directives have legal consequences?
I have received your legal notice and we will respond appropriately through legal channels. Your refusal to give the court reasons for using elements of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for our NetFlix documentary may be justified from a copyright perspective, but I would like to remind you that it has a moral side and must be defended in the court of God.
It’s been almost 10 years since the film came out, and it’s been a long time since someone wore a mask and continued to be so mean in front of the world. I haven’t forgotten all the horrible things you said about this movie, it was one of your biggest hits as a producer and a movie that is loved by everyone even today. What you said before publishing has left us with scars that will never heal. I learned through the film industry that your self-esteem is greatly hurt after a movie becomes a hit. Even ordinary people can feel your dissatisfaction with its success through the award events associated with the film (Filmfare 2016).
Business competition aside, prominent figures in public life generally do not interfere in the private lives of others. Civility and decency require magnanimous behavior in these matters. I believe that the people of Tamil Nadu, or anyone with a conscience, will not appreciate this kind of tyranny, even if it comes from an established figure like you.
Through this letter, I just hope and pray that you can find some peace of mind through the success of some of the people you have known in the past.
The world is big. It’s suitable for everyone. It’s okay for people you know to show up in your life. For the average person who doesn’t have a film background, it’s possible to make it big. If someone connects and is happy, that’s okay. It doesn’t take anything away from you. It’s just an ode to their work, their blessings, and the kindness of their people.
You may make up some false story, wrap it up in punch lines and offer it in your next audio release, but God is watching. I wish to introduce the German word “Schadenfreude” into your vocabulary and ensure that you never experience this emotion with us or anyone else again.
Indeed, in this world where it is easy to look down on people, there is joy in the happiness of others, and there is also joy in seeing the joy of others and the hope that comes from other people’s stories. That’s why we make Netflix documentaries. I suggest you take a look at it too, maybe it might change your mind. #SpreadLove is important and I hope and pray that one day you are fully capable of doing it too and not just talking about it.
