
Navratri is coming and devotees are getting ready to welcome it Maa Durga At home. As the name suggests, Navratri means the nine days and nine nights of worshiping Goddess Durga. During Navratri, people worship Goddess Durga in nine different forms. These nine days are considered the most sacred and auspicious and remind devotees how Madurga defeated and killed the demon Mahishasur and established justice in the universe.

Navratri Day 3 | Goddess Chandraganta | Maa Chandraghanta is worshiped on the third day of Navratri. Also known as Chandrakhanda, Chandika or Rannchandi, she has ten arms holding a variety of weapons. The name chandraghanta means the person with a half-moon shaped like a bell. His third eye is always open. Chandraghanta symbolizes bravery and courage. She has a crescent moon on her forehead and is riding a tiger. |
Fourth day of Navratri festival | Goddess Kushmanda | Devotees pray to Maa Kushmanda on the fourth day of Navratri. As we all know, Maa Kushmandar created the universe with her smile. The goddess rides on a lion and in her eight hands holds a kamandaru, bow, arrows, lotus, trident, a jar of nectar and a discus. “Kushmanda” is the Sanskrit name of the goddess, meaning Ku (little), Ushma (energy or light) and Anda (egg). She is associated with the energy of the sun. |
The fifth day of Navratri | Goddess Skandamata | Maa Skandmata is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri. Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is also known as Skand, which is how this form of the goddess got her name. She represents maternal love. She is seen holding her son Lord Kartikeya and riding a lion. |
Sixth day of Navratri festival | goddess katiani | The sixth day of Navratri is dedicated to the memory of Maa Katyayani. It is believed that when Goddess Parvati removed her outer golden skin to kill the demons called Shumbha and Nishumbha, she was called Goddess Kalaratri. |

Navratri Day 9 | Goddess Siddharth | Devotees pray to Maa Siddhidatri on the ninth day of Navratri. She is the ninth form of Madurga. Siddhi means supernatural power or meditative power and Datri means the giver of all achievements. Mata Siddhidatri imparts knowledge to her devotees. |
