Dr Kuldip Solanki, convener of the association, said: “We issued a notice of complaint on November 26 and asked Siddhu to respond within seven days. If the association does not receive a satisfactory reply, legal proceedings against Siddhu will be initiated.”
The association said it was willing to support Siddhu if the treatment proved to be real.
“We can name his method the Siddhu/Novjot Protocol and publish it in various international journals,” said gastroenterologist Dr. Solanki.
The notice was directed at Navjot Kaur Siddhu narrating a press conference held by her husband in Amritsar where he claimed that she overcame stage 4 cancer in 40 days through dietary changes. Dr Solanki pointed out that this has created uncertainty among the general public, especially cancer patients in India and abroad, about allopathic medicines.
“We seek clarification of your claims with documentary evidence. Do you fully support your husband’s claims? Do you think allopathic medicines and treatment administered to you at various hospitals are not working? Are your diet like neem leaves, Nimbu Paani, Tulsi leaves, Haldi cures your cancer while allopathic medicine doesn’t work? Misleading.
If the claims remain unproven, the organization will seek compensation of Rs 850 crore for possible damage to allopathic treatments.
“If no satisfactory clarification is received within seven days, the association will initiate legal proceedings for compensation,” Dr Solanki said, adding that Sidhu, a cricketer, commentator, politician and comedian, should just Focus on these characters.
Dr Solanki said the Chhattisgarh Civil Society currently has 1,800 registered members across the country from various professions including medicine, chartered accountancy, engineering, journalism, agriculture and senior artists.
