For this year, 46% of the Academy’s new members being women and 41% from underrepresented ethnic or racial groups. Moreover, more than half (56%) come from outside the US.
Additionally, Indian actor Shabana Azmi, directors SS Rajamouli and Anand Kumar Tucker, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, cinematographer Ravi Varman, costume designers Rama Rajamouli and Sheetal Sharma as well as documentary filmmakers Nisha Pahuja Hemal Trivedi are also among the distinguished members of the Academy.
