New Delhi: Australia spinner Nathan Lyon Opens up about the pressure of performing in the shadow of a “once-in-a-lifetime” star Shane Warne.
During his career which lasted from 1992 to 2007, Warne set an unparalleled record and created magic with his mastery of spin. Warne took 708 wickets in 145 games and was Australia’s top wicket-taker in Test matches.
Four years later in 2011, Lyon Warne made his debut in Australia after his retirement in 2007.
Although Lyon has had more than a dozen successful seasons with the red ball, he has occasionally felt under the influence of Vaughan.
“I still feel in the shadow of Shane Warne now, I’ve played 129 Test matches and taken 530 wickets. The fact is, I’m happy with it and I’m happy with it now.
