New Delhi: The Mysuru district court has sentenced to death Manikanta Swamy, who was convicted of the brutal murder of his pregnant wife, mother and two young sons.
Sentencing was handed down on Tuesday for the offense committed on April 28, 2021. chamegodanahundi villagelocated in Sargur Taluk in Mysore district.
Manikanta Swamy, 35, carried out the murders while under the influence of alcohol, targeting his wife Ganga, who was nine months pregnant, and his mother Kempamma, 65 and his sons Samrat, two, and Rohith, four.
The attack is carried out with a stick.
The police report highlighted Swamy’s continuing doubts about his wife’s fidelity, despite efforts by his family to dispel his suspicions.
After the murder, Swamy went into hiding but was later arrested by authorities after a massive manhunt.
