Because of the heavy rain in Maharashtra, Mumbai University has rescheduled CDOE exams. The exam was to be done on July 9 but will now take place from July 18-20.
Postpone exams include FYBA and FY BCom (Semester 1), FYBSc Information Technology (Semester 2), FY (BAF) (Semester 1), FYBSc Computer Science (Semester 2) and MMS Semester 2 exams.
The dates for this test were announced by CDOE Mumbai University in which they stated that the location of the test would not be changed. Earlier on Monday, CDOE postponed an examination at July 8 originally scheduled for July because “the examination timing has been shifted from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm,” said official release. These tests will be held on July 13 between 11am and 2pm. This is the official communication.
Mumbai heavy rain warning
Heavy rainfall is expected across several districts in Mumbai as indicated by a red alert issued by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). However, IMD has reduced its red alert status for Mumbai to yellow alert which will remain until Wednesday morning. According to meteorology department forecast, today there may be heavy rainfall in some areas of our city. Media reports show that although on Wednesday there was no warning about rains in Mumbai, from Thursday to Saturday again a yellow alarm will be declared.
There’s an Orange Alert up till tomorrow morning in Raigard while Thane will have a yellow one up to this week’s end.
Schools, universities closed due to heavy rain forecast
All schools up to class XII are closed today as per prediction given by collector Dr Suhas Diwase due to fear of any untoward incident caused due to heavy rains. On the other hand during office hours school staff including principals, teachers and other non-teaching staff shall be on duty to assist in disaster management activities led by local authorities.
Other areas affected include elementary and middle schools as well as high schools and junior high schools. Civic agencies, including the Brihan mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), TMC and Panvel and Navi Mumbai authorities have issued notifications regarding the closure. Precautionary measure of shutting all government and private institutions has been taken following IMD’s heavy rainfall warning.
