Subramaniam Badrinath who was a batter for Chennai Super Kings CSK has divulged an unusual moment where Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen going all out furious in a match against boys named in Royal Challengers Bengaluru RCB during the early stage of IPL.
Badrinath narrated an incident of one interesting game at Chepauk where the Super Kings lost a game while chasing a paltry target. It was when CSK needed more than fifty runs and did not know what hit them when the game was done. The usually cool Captain Dhoni after the game sat visibly angry.
Subramaniam Badrinath recalled coming into this match against RCB in Chennai – we were on a mission to score something more than 110 runs. I think we lost 4 wickets in under 20 runs and we ended paper august for walk away from the picture. It Has Been One Of Those Many Bad Games After One Too Many With 110 Runs Needed On Historical Chepauk Against RCB Were Not Getting Sights Of The Winning Line.
Badrinath also narrated an episode during the course of the RCB match which occurred once he was bowled out by the RCB bowler Anil Kumble.
“I went to play a lap shot and fell in the hands of Kumble. I got myself struck out LBW. He was coming inside the dressing and standing right there was me. And there was a small water which was lying in front of me and MS just blasted that out. I was like oh my god! In that dressing room, we were all looking for places to hide, and somehow I remember trying my best to keep eye contact with him,” Badrinath explained.
Despite the relatively few instances of those tensions, thanks to Dhoni’s unquestionable authority, CSK won 5 IPL cups, which makes him one of the most successful captains in the history of cricket. Badrinath, who had a stint with CSK from 2008 and 2013, accumulated 1441 runs in 95 matches consisting of 11 fifties, amongst others.
