Artificial Intelligence for OpenAI According to a Reuters report, the company might release its artificial intelligence (AI)-supported search product next week. The new agency report cited two people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Prior publications such as Bloomberg and The Information have been mentioned to have reportedly said that Microsoft-backed OpenAI is looking into developing a search product that would rival Google. This is the first time when anyone has given out the date of launching this product.
Google announced it will be holding its annual I/O conference on May 14th this year. In case if OpenAI announces its AI-powered search product on May 13th, it would probably launch a day before the event.
OpenAI “poaching” Google’s search staff
According to a recent Bloomberg report, OpenAI has been actively recruiting Google employees working on their search team to help build the new platform. Another source quoted by The Verge also claimed that OpenAI is enticing Google employees to join their quest for creating an alternative search engine.
The exact number of recruited personnel remains unknown.
