Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, returns to Instagram! Royal Airways kicks off 2025 with new accounts. She returned to Instagram after five years and was seen celebrating the New Year around the beach. On January 1, she posted a video of herself running in an all-white casual outfit and painting the year “2025” on the beach. After writing numbers in the sand, the film shifts to a beautiful landscape as she runs in front of the camera and out of frame.
According to ABC News, the footage was filmed by her husband, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, on a public beach near their home in Montecito, California, with their two adorable children, Archie and Lily Bette lives there.
Before marrying the prince, the “Suits” actor had an account on Instagram with more than 3 million followers and a lifestyle blog called “The Tig.” After she married into the British royal family in 2018, they both shared an Instagram account with Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales. Commenting on the claim in an interview with The Cut, she said, “Actually, if you want to publish photos of your children, as a family member, you first have to give them to Royal Rota.” The duke and duchess had their joint account after leaving the royal family in 2019, but it had to be closed a year later as they stepped back from royal duties.
In a 2022 interview with The Cut, she shared her top secret: “I’m coming back…on Instagram.” However, she was hesitant to return due to concerns about emotional harassment and online trolling. In 2023, she and her husband asked social media apps to improve content moderation. Now, her Instagram account bio reads “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” and has nearly 700,000 followers and counting. Her post has about 3.8 million likes, but the comments section is closed.
