Athletics has been an important source of success for India, with a total of 17 medals, including four gold medals. With these impressive performances, India currently ranks 15th in the overall standings. China leads the medal table with a staggering 208 medals, 90 of which are gold medals.
At the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics, competition among participating countries is fierce, with China becoming the clear leader. The Chinese delegation won a total of 216 medals, including 94 gold medals, 73 silver medals and 49 bronze medals.
Britain is closely behind China in second place, albeit with a huge gap in medal count. British athletes won 120 medals, including 47 gold, 42 silver and 31 bronze.
The United States ranks third on the leaderboard with 102 medals. Interestingly, Team USA has won more silver medals (41) than gold (36) or bronze (25).
The Netherlands is a relatively small country but punched above its weight, finishing in fourth place. The Dutch team won an impressive 55 medals, including 26 gold, 17 silver and 12 bronze.
Italy rounded out the top five, with their athletes winning a total of 71 medals. The Italian team showed their prowess especially in the bronze medal category, winning 32 medals, 24 gold and 15 silver.
India is the second most populous country in the world, ranking 16th. Indian athletes performed strongly, with a balanced distribution of 7 golds, 9 silvers and 13 bronzes, for a total of 29 medals.
