Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, shared his first email with the CEO of Yahoo. In fact, Zuckerberg says he created the social network using it. The email “zuck@harvard.edu” was used by Zuckerberg when he registered Facebook’sfirst account in 2004.
Zuckerberg disclosed that his first Facebook email was “mzuckerb@fas.harvard.edu,” during a casual discussion on Threads.
In one thread post, someone declared: “Like for years you have to have a .edu email address.”
Zuckerb replied to the post saying that: “Real people know ☝️the first account is mzuckerb@fas.harvard.edu.”
The Guardian claimed that there were three test accounts made before Zuckerberg deleted them. These accounts were probably intended for testing and developing the platform for its inception. This means that Zuckerberg’s account is the fourth oldest account on Facebook. Interestingly enough, Chris Hughes, a co-founder of Facebook has fifth position while Dustin Moscovitz holds sixth place.
He launched Thefacebook (later shortened to Facebook) in 2004 as a way of connecting Harvard students together. While it started as a campus-only site, its popularity quickly spread beyond Harvard borders.
