A forty-year-old man was arrested in Dindori District Madhya Pradesh on charges of raping a three-year old girl.
After sexually assaulting the child, the accused dumped her in a farm while she was still unconscious.
This necessitated that the girl be taken to Jabalpur after she could not be subjected for medical examination at Dindori.
The incident happened in one of villages under the jurisdiction of Dindori Kotwali police station on Tuesday afternoon when restrictions were put in place.
He took hold of her and handed over a packet of snacks before telling her he would take her to see her grandfather but later raped her on a farm around 12 noon.
Consequently, he left the girl writhing with pain on the farm and escaped. The family members started searching for her and around 3pm a gardener near the farm found him and told his parents about it.
Once they arrived at hospital they informed police who then attended and picked up patient from there.
“She was semi-conscious; experienced pain accompanied by minor bleeding but is out of danger now referred to Jabalpur only as she couldn’t get forensic exam here. The girl had been traced by us at that other end too close to town called Dindoli thereby arresting him. He’s an alcoholic,” said Anurag Jamdar, officer-in-charge at Kotwali Police Station during an interview.
