Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of west bengal had planned to go to New Delhi on Thursday for Niti Aayog on July 27 meeting was held and it was decided that the visit should be postponed by one day. This comes after the congress chief minister announced his boycott yesterday. Niti To protest against opposition-ruled states’ discrimination in the federal budget, The Aayog meeting has been scheduled for July 27.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has also refused to attend NITI Aayog saying that in the union budget, they were left out completely from consideration.
“The Chief Minister will not fly to New Delhi today afternoon. No reason was given”, TMC sources said.
On Friday, if Mamata Banerjee resigns as TMC chief, “It is yet to be seen,” remarked party sources, “We will know by tomorrow.”
The TMC is among India’s national-level opposition groups.
