NAGPUR: Senior MLA Bhaskar Jadhav severe criticism on saturday maharashtra government Failed to allocate portfolios to 39 newly sworn-in ministers and neglected matters such as Farmers commit suicide, Industrial stagnationand a fake medicine racket.
In a resolution in the Legislative Assembly last week, the Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA from Guhagarh accused the government of ignoring the needs of the people while ministers without portfolios continue to benefit.
Highlighting the current agricultural crisis, Jadhav revealed that more than 2,000 farmers have committed suicide since January 2023, pointing out that the Mahayut government has failed to fulfill its promise to end farmer suicides.
“The government’s indifference has left farmers vulnerable to insurance fraud, resulting in losses worth hundreds of millions of rupees,” he claimed. He called for immediate reforms to fight corruption and ensure justice for farmers.
MLAs also criticized the outflow of industry from Maharashtra, blaming the lack of industrial incentives for relocating industries to states such as Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
“The government’s empty pronouncements about bringing industries to Maharashtra have not yielded any results. Instead, industries are shifting, resulting in Maharashtra being ranked 13th in the country.
He urged the government to take concrete measures to attract investments and revive the country’s industrial sector.
Government failed miserably in developing Mihan
Jadhav raised questions about the condition of MIHAN (Intermodal International Cargo Hub and Airport, Nagpur) and criticized the government for failing to develop infrastructure despite years of promises.
“MIHAN remains a neglected project with several industries withdrawing due to poor facilities. Even projects like Amravati Textile Park are just election gimmicks,” he commented. He also demanded transparency on the Rs 150-crore deal reportedly signed in Davos.
Jadhav has not let go of the state government’s plan to build a grand memorial to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the Arabian Sea. “Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone in December 2016, but despite spending hundreds of millions of rupees, not a single brick has been laid. Maratha warriors deserve more than empty statements,” he fumed.
Talking about the shocking fake medicine scam, Jadhav claimed that unauthorized fake medicines are being supplied across the state, including from Kalmeshwar (Nagpur), Bhiwandi and Nanded, This is dangerous to public health. He revealed that none of the five companies involved in the case were registered and accused a man named Chaudhry of running a fake company selling fake medicines. He concluded by urging the government to put governance over rhetoric and take immediate action to address these pressing issues.
