PRAYAGRAJ: PRISONER Pratapgarh District jail prepares 12 amla (Indian gooseberry) products for ongoing Mahakumbu. Products include amla laddoo, amla burfi, amla murabba, amla candy, clovergooseberry pickle, will be enjoyed by seers, saints, devotees and tourists at the event.

The first batch of anti-money laundering products, weighing about 220 kilograms, was shipped to Mahakumbh on Monday.
Warden Rishabh Dwivedi told TOI, “More than 50 jail inmates have been working tirelessly for the past 20 days to prepare various amla products.”
“The first batch of 12 amla products was sent to Mahakumbh on Monday,” Dwivedi added.
The amla processing scheme is part of the OJOP (One Jail, One Product) scheme of the Uttar Pradesh Prisons Department, which is aligned with the ODOP (One District, One Product) scheme.
“Anti-money laundering products are distributed in Pratapgarh district jail and last year we provided food processing training to 57 prisoners under the state government’s ‘Kaushal Vikas Mission’,” Dwivedi said.
Dwivedi said that the Anti-Money Laundering Act Processing Center was set up in Pratapgarh District Jail in November 2024.
“A team of 15 inmates is currently busy preparing more amla products,” he further added.
Dwivedi acknowledged the high demand for anti-money laundering products from various social, religious and spiritual organizations. Kumbh Melanoted that the first shipment had been delivered.
Besides, he also revealed that 20 district jails, including Pratapgarh, have been selected to showcase products made by inmates under the “One Prison One Product” scheme at Mahakumbh.
