The suspect, Bhola Ahirwar (28), has been on the run for three months after a minor girl accused him of rape.
Since the case was registered, the police have been trying to arrest him and have announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for his head.
The attack took place around 10:30 a.m. when Ahirwar burst into the victim’s home armed with a pistol. He confronted the girl and asked her to withdraw the rape case against him.
When the victim’s grandfather, a 65-year-old man, stepped in to protect her, Ahirwal opened fire, shooting He’s in the chest.
