Within hours of a video emerging showing revellers harassing a couple on a motorcycle in Gomti Nagar, the police acted. District Police Officer (DCP) Eastern Zone and two other senior police officers were given the boot by the police commissioner. The dismissed individuals include: DCP East Zone Prabal Pratap Singh, Additional DCP Amit Kumawat and Gomti Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police Anshu Jain. The others listed for suspension are: Gomtinagar SHO, Deepak Pandey; Rishi Vivek who commands the police outpost; Kapil Kumar – sub-inspector as well as Dharamvir and Kapil Kumar – constables.
