Baby cleared her BSc examination last year through Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, but when she got her degree certificate recently, she was shocked to find that in Hindi part of the document, her name means “Bacha’ (meaning child).
The certificate reads: “Proof that Baccha has passed the second-level Bachelor of Science examination of our school in 2023 and obtained the degree.”
If there’s one thing on which this 22-year-old student can count as a blessing is that at least her name was written correctly in English section of the paper.“I’ve been going to the university office for two months now because I cannot apply for a job due to their negligence. If my name is not changed, then this certificate will be just waste paper. This seems like an online scam from…” There are also other students who are trying hard to make right mistakes on their transcripts and degree certificates,” said Babi.
When asked about the error on the Baby degree certificate, Om Parkash, controller examinations said: “We’ll find out why it happened.” On another occasion, Aji had some negligence by varsity team led to Ajit Kumar’s plight as an Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery Bachelor of 2016. He took test but failed to get any marks in one paper; he sought revisions from his college and university. Assurances were given at both levels but no additional marks materialized.
Kumar who had lost all hope of correction when university announced exam schedule 2017 re-enrolled for retake.I revised and uploaded his results into universities websites after sitting exams next day.
