The possibility of a wave of violence in the North Caucasus region was dismissed by the Kremlin on Monday; 19 people were killed by a gunman in Dagestan, Russia.
When asked if Moscow was worried that there could be a repetition of what happened more than ten years ago when this part of the country experienced insurgency and terrorist acts, Kremlin’s speaker Dmitry Peskov said: “No. It’s another country now. Society has united, not supporting this form of terrorism.”
