Kevin Pietersen and Matthew Hayden were on Sunday joker Rayudu for changing his waistcoat after Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL title in 2024. On Sunday, KKR won their third IPL trophy by crushing SRH in the final match played in Chennai.
While Rayudu was backing Sunrisers Hyderabad during the last game, he had worn an orange waistcoat but soon after a win by KKR, changed it to a blue coat.
Rayudu was bashed by both Pietersen and Hayden who called him ‘joker’ on air during the post-match show.
“Thanks for pointing out that he switched from orange to blue,” host Mayanti Langer remarked.
“I have stood my ground. I wore it and I owned it,” said Pietersen while gesturing towards his purple dress. “You are a joker, always a joker,” Pietersen further went on to say.
“I don’t support any team. I am not supporting any team,” replied Rayudu.
Having lost the toss, KKR bowled clinically against SRH and restricted them at 113 which is the lowest ever total in an IPL final match.
KKR knocked off that target with 57 balls remaining. Not out on 52 off 26 deliveries Venkatesh Iyer added to this scoreline of KKR chasing down that total of 114 while playing for as many as overs possible.
The most successful bowlers among Knight Riders were Mitchell Starc (2/14), Andre Russell (3/19) and Harshit Rana (2/24) as SRH did not seem interested at all in playing this big match.
