Senior BJP leader and Kerala in-charge Prakash Javadekar accused the CPI(M)-led Left government of keeping silent on Hamas and allowing Janata Dal followers to join their ranks .
Javadekar defended George, saying the leader had clarified that his remarks were aimed at countering extremism and were not directed at any particular community.
“The FIR against PC George is a political vendetta by the LDF government, which has embraced PDF followers without saying anything against Hamas,” he posted on his “X” account.
“UDF Equally guilty of appeasing extremist politics. It has never supported banning PDFs or condemned Hamas. Officer George has clarified that his purpose was to counter extremism and not to target a particular community. Kerala is united against extremism,” he added.
Bharatiya Janata Party chief Surendran also criticized the Pinarayi Vijayan government for filing a case against George and claimed the party would challenge it legally and politically.
Surendran further claimed that the case was registered under pressure from community forces.
