BJP spokesperson Prakash Sesharaghavachar highlighted the seriousness of the scandal, estimated to be worth around Rs 5,000 crore, and expressed doubts about the state police’s handling of the investigation. Sesharaghavachar said: “The MUDA scam is so big that it amounts to around Rs 5,000 crore. The BJP and others have expressed doubts about the state police investigation. There is an urgent need for a CBI probe into this scandal. An application has been filed in In this regard, they have issued a notice to the High Court for CBI investigation and I believe the final decision will be a CBI investigation.
The controversy surrounding the MUDA scam involves allegations of illegal allotment of valuable land in Mysore to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi. Following the court order on September 27, the Lokayukta had launched an inquiry into the matter. Siddaramaiah He is expected to be questioned by the Mysore Lokayukta police.
Sesharaghavachar also commented on the ongoing investigation, saying, “After the special court ordered an inquiry into the Lokayukta, his (CM Siddaramaiah) wife was also investigated earlier. Today, Siddaramaiah has been issued a notice to appear in court. I hope the Lokayukta’s Officials won’t do this.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) also took action to conduct searches at various locations related to suspected money laundering Related to the MUDA scam. ED has filed a money laundering case against Siddaramaiah and others, further increasing the pressure on the chief minister. Siddaramaiah has always denied any wrongdoing and said the investigation was politically motivated, and he has refused to resign despite calls from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Karnataka High Court recently issued notice to Siddaramaiah and others in response to a petition seeking transfer of investigation. Further hearing is scheduled for November 26 and the Lokayukta police has been directed to submit a progress report by November 25.
