I am Kalki 2898 AD which means that this weekend would not be the same at the box office.
It has been confirmed by the advance ticket sales of the much-anticipated sci-fi production that it will bring in big money at the box office with more than a million tickets sold. As reported on sacnilk.com, the film has so far gone for around 1.3 million tickets across various languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada as well as different formats earning as high as 36.76 Crores.
The film is set to receive massive release with an expected number of screenings being put at 18,026. By net revenue estimates, Telangana leads in ticket sales with a net revenue worth Rs 1792 crore while Andhra Pradesh follows closely behind with Rs 836 crore net revenue. Karnataka collections are approximately Rs 43.9 crore and Tamil Nadu’s is estimated at Rs 15.7 crore respectively; Maharashtra pre-sales were about Rs 10.10 million.
These numbers serve as indicators for the weekend ahead, but trade pundits see a growth trend just one day before Thursday June 27th when it hits cinemas worldwide.
One of India’s most expensive movies ever made “Kalki 2898 AD” directed by Ashwin which also features stars such as Prabhas, Deepika Padukone Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in key roles.
According to reports from some global markets including US through pre-sales alone, this movie has already earned itself around Rs 200 crores on its opening day .
