Only five days before the release of Ashwin’s futuristic mythological Sci-Fi movie “Kalki AD 2898” andthe box office collections will be huge in North America (USA, Canada). Over the last couple of years, North America has become one of the biggest overseas markets for Indian movies due to movies such as Bahubali Series, KGF Series, Animal etc.
On its opening day sales in North America of Kalki AD 2898 with actors Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan Prabhas, Disha Patani and Deepika Padukone have crossed $2 million. This is because today the film currently stands at a box office total of $ 2.2M out of which $2MM came from United States where tickets were sold up to about 66 thousand and the rest came from Canada.
The film has now become one of two highest earning theaters on its opening day after SS Rajamouli Jr.NTR Ram CharanThe deposit reserve ratio is US$2.75 million, making it Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar: Ceasefire Part 1 that cost them $2.3 million.
The makers revealed another trailer for “Kalki” on Thursday whose effect on North American box-office can be seen already. In the past 24 hours alone, almost 8k tickets were sold resulting in over $220k in gross sales.
Amitabh Bachchan bought his co-star Kamal Haasan first ticket to catch a screening of Kalki at C Aswani Dutt producer’s booth during Mumbai’s most recent film event; this was given as a gift to his friend who plays Supreme Yaskin in the film.
