former president barak Obamanext to the rock icon Bruce Springsteen and many other celebrities rallying support for the Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris Thursday. The event attracted about 20,000 participants and was one of Harris’ largest rallies to date.
Obama claimed during his speech at the rally trump card “Only concerned about his ego, his money, his status.” The former president claimed that Trump’s behavior “stupid doesn’t mean his presidency won’t be in danger.”
To support his argument, Obama cited the views of several senior military officials who have worked closely with Trump. Obama quoted former Trump chief of staff Gen. John Kelly, who earlier told The Atlantic that “Trump told him he wanted his generals to be like Hitler’s generals.” Obama Humorously advising against comparing yourself to Hitler politically, “Don’t say you want to do things like Hitler,” he quipped.
Harris echoed that sentiment, drawing on her experience as a prosecutor to describe Trump as something akin to a “predator, fraudster and repeat criminal.” She encouraged Georgians to remember that now it’s their turn to hold Trump accountable. “In 12 days, it’s Donald Trump’s turn. It’s his turn,” she declared, emphasizing the urgency of the election and the need for voters to make a decisive choice.
The rally was part of Harris’ “When We Vote We Win” concert series, and Sting performed the moving “Promised Land” and “Land of Hopes and Dreams.” He passionately declared Harris a candidate who truly respects the Constitution and has a vision for leadership. “There’s only one candidate in this election who cherishes these principles, and that’s Kamala Harris,” he said.
The event is part of a concerted effort by the Harris campaign to use celebrity endorsements to boost voter turnout, especially as polls show Biden unexpectedly won Georgia in 2020 in a close race.
