The Federal Bureau of Investigation uncovered a conspiracy to kidnap Whitmer last year that led to nine men pleading guilty or being convicted. Major wins occurred during her 2022 re-election bid targeting reproductive rights and this culminated in voter-approved abortions law in Michigan.

Born in San Francisco, Gavin Newsom got his start volunteering on Willie Brown’s mayoral campaign in 1995. Subsequently appointed by Brown following vacancy on SF Board of Supervisors and later elected mayor, Newsom had entered politics before serving as California’s lieutenant governor (2010) and then governor (2018), pursuing progressivism aggressively while retaining high level national exposure.
Newsom, who is 56 years old, has been one of Biden’s staunchest defenders even as he faces mounting criticism over his poor performance in the presidential debates. “He will be our nominee,” Newsom said on a recent visit to New Hampshire.
Pennsylvania’s governor Josh Shapiro is regarded as a political prodigy and this is his second term after defeating Trump’s candidate with ease. In media appearances, Shapiro, aged 51, publicly endorsed Joe Biden and has always fought against Trump first as state attorney general and now as Governor.
If chosen, Shapiro would be the first presidential candidate of Jewish heritage or the second vice-presidential candidate of Jewish ancestry.. He won three statewide races through an intensive campaign that projected him as a low-key substitute for U.S Senator John Fetterman.
North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper won six statewide elections in a state where Republicans usually dominate. The governor, aged 67, enjoys high approval ratings due to it has benefited from a burgeoning economy. He has presented himself as an advocate for public education and women’s rights to choose.
Cooper was born in Nash County and served in the House of Representatives for 14 years eventually becoming Senate majority leader. In 2000 he was elected attorney general known for clearing three former Duke University lacrosse players accused wrongly of sexual assault.
Cooper succeeded Republican Governor Pat McCrory in 2016 and won re-election last year..
Andy Beshear of Kentucky is known to be an up-and-coming Democrat who continually defeats Republicans supported by President Trump. Ky.’s response during COVID-19 pandemic and other disasters attracted attention with its governor’s empathetic reactions and detailed explanations.
Beshear had seen record-breaking economic growth while repeatedly mentioning his faith in Christianity. Being an attorney at law, he unseated Matt Bevin – Republican incumbent backed up by Trump – in 2019 only to win his reelection last year.
Mark Kelly is currently a U.S senator from Arizona who is known as an average Democrat in this Republican state. Kelly’s entrance into politics unfolded on the day his wife, soon-to-be-former U.S congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, was shot in the head.
