MUMBAI: Punjab Kings have announced Jitesh Sharma as the captain in their final match of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. The team will be led by him in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 17th October,2015 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
At that time, Jitesh will assume control from Sam Curran who returned to England to take part in T20I series against Pakistan prior to the forthcoming T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies.
Jitesh is going to become the third leader for Punjab Kings this year since Shikhar Dhawan has been out of consecutive games due to his injured shoulder during Sun Risers’ game held on April 9 at home ground and another substitute captain from England all rounder Sam Curran.
For IPL 2024 playoffs, there is no use of this game because Punjab Kings are already out but Sun Risers have made it through after their last match was washed-out.
The South African fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada had missed the Guwahati-based franchise’s previous games with abscesses which caused him to go back home and undergo treatment there.
Just like Livingstoen Liam, Curran and Jonny Bairstow left UK after Rajasthan Royals’ penultimate clash with Punjab Kings in Guwahati on Wednesday.
During the CPL Chris Woakes left India because his father tragically passed away recently in England.
