Jagannath Yatra 2024: One of the most holy festivals for Odisha Puri district is Jagannath Rath Yatra. An impressive spectacle and performance can be seen on every nook and corner of this town during the festival. Many devotees from all parts of India come to Odisha only to take a look at Lord Jagannath. This Jagnatha Rath Yatra will fall on Dwitiya Tithi, Ashada, Shukla Paksha in 2024 which is scheduled for July 7.

Jagannath Rath Yatra 2024: Significance

Jagannath Rath Yatra It has immense religious importance in Hinduism. This festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the state of Puri, Odisha. Numerous devotees travel to Puri only to have a sight of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balbhadra and their sister Subhadra who are believed to be present there during the Ratha Yatra.

During this event, there will be an enormous procession involving three chariots carrying these deities along the roads. Moreover, due to its diverse colors, patterns and beautiful decorations; all eyes will be on the cart that becomes central point of focus for everyone. The temple also looks beautiful with various flowers like rangolis and diyas being put up around it.

Lord Jagannath Puri is considered as one of those sacred places where you feel that Lord Krishna’s heart beats inside Lord Jagannath idol because it is believed so by his followers. Every year in the month of June or July which marks the beginning of monsoons in India, Jagannatha Rath Yatra is celebrated throughout the country. During this festival Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balbhadra and Goddess Subhadra are taken out from their sanctum sanctorums and placed on different chariots and a great number of devotees from all over the country will come to see them.
