“Operations in the north should end with one result: crushing Hezbollah and eliminating its ability to harm northern residents,” Smotrich said on social media platform X.
The Israeli minister claimed that a ceasefire proposed by the United States and its allies would give Hezbollah time to “reorganize”.
Previously, the Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati expressed hope that both sides could reach a ceasefire as soon as possible to end the fighting Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah, which still risks an all-out war between the two countries even as Israel considers a ground invasion.
