Friday saw Yuzvendra Chahal, the leading wicket-taker in IPL, finding himself on the wrong side of the record book. The spinner was struck for a record 224 sixes in his career.
Sunrisers Hyderabad hammered three sixes off the bowling of Rajasthan Royals’ Chahal, who went for an expensive 0/34 in Chennai.
The figure emphasizes the high stakes nature of T20 cricket and also shows how strong and resilient Chahal has been against some of the world’s most ferocious hitters.
Not far behind him on this list is another veteran campaigner Piyush Chawla who has conceded 222 sixes. Having been consistent throughout his career so far is one thing that can be said about him as he is known for wily leg-spin which turns sharply.
Ravindra Jadeja has conceded 206 sixes which makes a difference. Among other things, this player is admired by many clubs from different counties because of his all-round abilities: left-arm spin and accurate throws are among them.
