During the IPL Qualifier 2 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Rajasthan Royals player Shimron Hetmyer was fined 10% of his match fees for violating IPL Code of Conduct.
Hetmyer committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He was identified guilty and he took it as a punishment from the Match Referee.For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” stated an IPL release on Saturday.
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson decided to bowl after winning toss in this match. Heinrich Klaasen’s cracking half-century helped Sunrisers Hyderabad post a total of 175/9.
Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma played pivotal roles in keeping Rajasthan’s batters in check as they struggled against spin duo pacers complementing pace bowlers at other end.
The ultimate score was disappointing for Rajasthan who were only able to make 139/7 thereby leading to their defeat by a margin of 36 runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have advanced with this victory into the final round where they will face Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk on Sunday.
