New Delhi: IPL 2025 Auction In Jeddah, a fierce bidding war was witnessed, especially for six big-name players: Ardeep SinghKagiso Rabada, Shreyas Iyerif Butler, Mitchell Starkand Reesha Pant. The teams have spent a combined staggering Rs 110 crore to ensure that these high-profile cricketers emerge from the big-name player category in Group One.
India’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant moves to Lucknow Super Giants after playing for Delhi Capitals in 2016 in a record-breaking deal of Rs 27 crore Giants).
Kings XI Punjab created a splash when they bought Shreyas Iyer for Rs 2,675 crore, briefly setting a record before Pant’s historic bid.
Punjab also exercised the Right to Match (RTM) option to get Arshdeep Singh back for Rs 18 crore after a fierce bidding war launched by the Chennai Super Kings.
Gujarat Titans strengthened their squad by bringing in South African pacer Kagiso Rabada and England’s Jos Buttler for Rs 1,075 crore.
Buttler has been a consistent performer for the Rajasthan Royals since 2018 and is one of the most popular players.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals paid Rs 1,175 crore for Mitchell Starc, much lower than the Rs 2,475 crore spent for him in the last auction (KKR).
