NEW DELHI: The second team to make the IPL 2024 playoffs after Kolkata Knight Riders is Rajasthan Royals. Delhi Capitals’ victory over Lucknow Super Giants led to the qualification of Rajasthan Royals for the play-offs.
Rajasthan, who were the champions in the first season, are now on 16 points from 12 games and currently occupy the second spot in the standings. They have booked their place in the final four irrespective of what happens in their last two matches as a result of Tuesday’s game.
Delhi moved up to 14 points, level with Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, whose chances of making it into playoffs depend on a series of other results.
One match left and they are all but out of play-off contention. But even if they win their next game against Mumbai Indians, they will still be nowhere among top-four teams.
CSK or RCB may most likely take those remaining two spots for playoffs.
How RCB qualifies for IPL 2024 playoffs after win against DC:
If RCB vs CSK becomes knockout match then either:
– Win by 18 runs
– Chase target within 18.1 overs
This will surpass CSK’s Net Run Rate (NRR).
How can RCB and CSK qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs?
– If SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad) loses both its matches then both CSK & RCB have chance qualifying.
– Regardless of Net Run Rate, RCB qualifying relies on a win in its last match.
