In his latest transformational performance, Siraj destroyed gujarat titans In the powerplay, he burst out with two wickets, taking the wickets of Friedhiman Saha and Shubman Gill.
Siraj posted an incredible 2-0-9-2 at the time and was expected to compete with Jasprit Bumrah The ICC final is also a huge boost for the national football team.
After working with Siraj for five years, assistant coach Adam Griffith of RCB Attributed the change to him “swinging the ball again.”
“He is the leader of our team. He has played a lot of games for India over the past few years and has performed extremely well. It’s not just him playing well. It’s his aggression, his body language , he leads the batsmen trying to get wickets which is a big part of what we are trying to do.
“It’s very important for us to get him up, swinging the ball again, bowling at a good pace and staying aggressive,” RCB said at a post-match press conference in Bengaluru on Saturday as RCB beat GT by four wickets Later, Griffith said.
Royal Challengers’ bowling performance was their lowest in the IPL season with a combined economy rate of 10.28 and 45 wickets.
Siraj, whose job as a leader is to inspire others, raised his hand.
Perhaps the nine-day holiday between April 12 and 20 helped him refocus and become more alert.
He missed the match during which Sunrisers Hyderabad set an IPL record of 287 runs for three balls during their match in Bengaluru.
Griffiths outlined the reasons for allowing Siraj some free time.
“He’s like any other player when they get tired. It’s very important to give them rest. It’s just as important as the training part, sometimes even more important.
“He’s a pace bowler – his run-up is very important for what he does. So, we want him to be energetic and run hard,” he said.
After his comeback from the midfield, Siraj played four games against Kolkata Knight Riders, SRH and two games against GT. In a high-scoring match against Knight Riders, RCB lost by one run but they won the other three points.
In these three games, Siraj’s record is 4-0-20-0, 4-0-34-1 and 4-0-29-2.
Griffith said Siraj found a good balance between rest time and preparation time.
“He knows his body very well. He knows what he needs to prepare for and every now and then we might need to give him a little push in that direction.
“I’ve been with him for about five years, so I can tell when he’s going well and when he needs a break,” he added.
This version of Siraj is a throwback to IPL 2023, when he picked up 19 wickets, 10 of which came in Power Plays.
Siraj’s energy seemed to trickle down to the other bowlers too, with youngster Yash Dayal playing a frugal and productive spell in the front – 4-0-21-2.
This meant that Titans were restricted to their lowest Power Play score of this season in IPL – 23/3.
Griffiths said the RCB bowlers collectively bowled better lines to register three wins on the bounce.
“We have been swinging the ball up front throughout the tournament. We talked about how to bowl more directly and attack the stumps as much as possible to challenge the batsmen’s defense and allow them to play aggressively when they want to attack us. Sexy shot.
“It was a challenge for them and the lads put them exactly where we wanted them to be (against GT),” he explained.
