Facebook parent company Meta has stated that India is the top market for its AI-driven chatbots. Chief Financial Officer Susan Lee made the announcement during a conference call on earnings. The popularity of Meta began when it launched an AI-driven chatbot on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were launched in India earlier this year, but according to Lee, it was a push to use the messaging app.
“We have had billions of queries since we first launched meta-artificial intelligence. We’re seeing particularly promising signs in terms of retention and engagement on WhatsApp, coinciding with India becoming our largest market for Meta AI usage,” Li said.
Meta’s AI chatbot operates in more than 20 countries and supports several languages including Hindi. The platform has been adding functionalities such as Imagine Edit which enables users to edit generated photographs.
“Threads continues to grow within the generative AI community with deeper levels of engagement as we release additional features and enhance our content discovery engine,” added Li.
Zuckerberg: Meta’s AI will become the most used Artificial Intelligence assistant by the end of this year
However, Mark Zuckerberg who is co-founder of Facebook and CEO at Meta said that ‘this year’s end will see’ “Meta AI enabling us to become The most commonly used artificial intelligence assistants By the end of this year.”
“While we have an exciting roadmap ahead of what we want to add, Meta AI feels poised to become an important service; it’s rapidly improving both in intelligence and functionality,” he noted during an investor conference call.
“For instance, some applications are geared towards utility like looking up information before engaging another individual or roleplaying a difficult conversation whereas others are more imaginative like ‘Imagine Yourself’ which lets you create photos of yourself doing anything. That is why one thing about artificial intelligence is its flexibility so that we are still exploring many areas where it can be useful,” said the CEO.
